TLG Early Intervention Coach training
Transforming Lives for Good held their Early Intervention training for primary school coaches/mentors at St Paul's Warwick as their original venue in Worcester was flooded!
The training was attended by a team of 8 from Warwick and they were grateful not to have to travel! They received some inspiring sessions from the TLG team with great tips and material for 1:1 sessions, general coaching skills and safeguarding procedures. Our mentors have committed to coaching a primary school pupil for one hour a week for a whole school year and they cant wait to get started working with pupils at Newburgh Primary School in January. St Paul's are the lead church for the project and are supported by volunteers from St Michael's Budbrooke and New Life Church. This is a really exciting project bringing churches together to help and support families in need through their local school. We cant wait to see the impact it makes and how we might role it out into other areas of the the town through church/school partnerships.
The training included lots of interaction and helpful role play as well as activity ideas to do in your mentor session - Who knew you could have so much fun with a tennis ball ?!?!
