Midlands Youth Conference

Midlands Youth Conference inspires young people to reach out to their friends.

TCTW had the privilege to work with The Message Trust and churches and organisations across the Midlands on the steering group for last weekends youth conference and took a group of teenagers from Warwick to the event. It was an inspiring day pact with relevant sessions to empower young people to reach out to their friends, schools and communities with the good news about Jesus.

More than 250 young people hungry to meet with God came from across the Midlands for a day packed full of awesome worship, inspirational teaching from Jet Jones and Mark Ritchie, exciting youth activities and lots of fun.

Our prayer for the day was that young people would encounter Jesus, be equipped and grow in their Christian faith and these testimonies really encouraged the team it had been answered!

My daughter was so fired up after the event and is keen to be nominated for Amplify (the Advance 2020 Youth Evangelism programme). After sharing her testimony she told her mum that she now wants to be a speaker. Another girl from my church said it was the first time she’d been able to lift her hands in worship.

‘I went to the conference open-minded about what it would be like, but I want to do it all again next week! My friend, who has never been to church, came too and now wants to come to the next event.’

‘It was significant how hungry the young people were. The band had finished playing Oceans, and over the keys, the young people spontaneously started to sing out the bridge, “Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders…” The band looked at each other mouthing ”wow,” it was what I would call a thin place, where heaven and earth met, and God’s glory was there.’

We are looking forward to continuing partnership work with The Message in inispiring and engagingig young people in new and exciting ways.
