Make Lunch

Free school meals make a huge difference to 1.2 million children in the UK but when schools are closed so are the kitchens…

MakeLunch is a network of churches working to fill the holiday hunger gap. Here in Warwick three churches are running Make Lunch sessions over the Summer Holidays which include games, activities, fun and a free hot healthy lunch!

We have been running for two years now and after a disappointing start, when no one came to our first session, we are so glad we didn’t give up! God has placed so many precious families and children in our path! This summer we fed 26 different children and 19 were eligible for free school meals and many were new faces! We have got to know the mums and grandmas better – One confided in me that she suffers from anxiety and Make Lunch is the only time she leaves the house. She feels safe, welcomed and loved – what an answer to prayer!
