Restore Project
With thanks to Warwick Town Council, the charity Evelyns Gift and the New Life Church, local street homeless man Mr T has been provided with equipment to set up his own bike repair enterprise.
Supported by TCTW the partnership has raised over £600 and provided him with tools, a secure shed and area from which he can work.
Pastor Linz Alexander of the New Life Church said:
"Since the Restore project has been up and running Mr T has repaired a bike for for a local lady who is suffering from depression and arthritis and is going to get cycling to improve her health. He has repaired over 10 bikes for single parent families and has already been asked to do odd jobs for some of them who don’t have a man around the house to do things like put up blinds etc. He has also been given spare bikes for parts and seems to be really enjoying himself! He has sold a restored bike to a single mother who wants to give up smoking and get cycling with her kids now their bikes are fixed. He is really creating a cycling and get fit buzz around the area!"
Mr T said
"I really enjoy fixing things and can turn my hand to anything. I like helping people and having somewhere to go and something to do and really want to work for a living not beg. Mentally I feel a lot better and everyone keeps feeding me with tea and cakes so i am starting to look better too!"
